
Ingredients:
➡️For the Steak Strips:
- 255g rump steak, cut into strips
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 1 egg white
- 1/4 tsp ground white pepper
- Sea salt flakes
- Olive oil
➡️For the Sauce:
- 1 red onion, peeled and sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
- 1 tsp black peppercorns, roughly crushed
- 125ml red wine
- 125ml double cream
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Sprig of thyme
- Sea salt flakes
➡️Additional Ingredients:
- 1 Baguette, cut in half
- Parsley, finely chopped for garnish
Method:
1. Marinate the Beef Strips:
- Mix beef strips with sea salt flakes, egg white, and ground white pepper. Set aside.
2. Prepare the Sauce:
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry red onion, chopped garlic, and crushed black peppercorns until fragrant.
- Add sliced red pepper, mix well, and pour in red wine to deglaze the pan. Boil for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in double cream and thyme, then simmer on low heat.
3. Cook the Beef Strips:
- Heat olive oil in another pan over medium heat.
- Dip marinated beef strips in plain flour, ensuring they are coated.
- Fry the beef strips until golden brown and cooked.
4. Combine Beef Strips with Sauce:
- Transfer the cooked beef strips into the sauce. • Add Worcestershire sauce, mix well, and season with sea salt flakes to taste.
5. Assemble the Sandwich:
- Cut the baguette in half.
- Serve the beef on top of the baguette.
- Sprinkle finely chopped parsley for garnish.
